Albertson's 10/13

I spent $12 and saved $36 and my conscience.  More on that later.
The easy fries are on sale for $1.25 each with a $3 Catalina when you buy 4 so final price $.50.  The frozen juice mix was a manager special at the Albertson's on Winchester for $.50 each!  Regularly $2.50!
Anyway, I separated my transactions so I could use the $3 Catalina's as I went along, and as I was taking my last receipt, I saw something folded up inside it.  It was my $9 in Catalina's I had just spent.  The cashier had handed them back to me out of habit I suppose even though they were already used.  It only took a split second to make the decision to give them back, not because I am holy or righteous or anything, but because I have learned through my mistakes that the Lord keeps track and He isn't going to let me get away with deceit even if the store does.  I thought I would just throw that out there...

Old Town Murrieta Plowboys

I used to shop at Plowboy's Farmer's Market every week for my produce, but I stopped going for some reason.  I think I was under the impression they closed.  Maybe they did, but today I rediscovered them and love them just as much as ever!  Everything in the picture above (minus the children, of course) was $4.99!  The large bag of bananas was clearanced for $1, regular price was still only $.55/lb though.  I plan to freeze them for smoothies since today is clearly the last day of desirability.  The 5 lb bag of potatoes was $.97!!  The Watermelon was $1.50.  The kids are holding (and eating) my splurge item...organic honey crisp apples.  They were $1.69/lb but they are the best apples I have ever eaten.  They really taste like honey!  I've gotten honey crisp at the store before and was NOT impressed, but these are SO different!
They also had broccoli for $.89/lb regular price, pears for $.25/lb, plums for $.88/lb, and local bread and honey for various prices.  They carry a few staple items as well (like milk and cup o' noodles...you know...must haves) and lots of mexican and asian specialty items.  Anyway, if you happen to be at the corner of Kalmia and Washington sometime, check them out!

I got the above pictures from their Facebook page.

Rite Aid Deal starting Friday for Southern CA!

I read on Southern Cali Saver, that starting this Friday at Rite Aid there will be a mega deal on Kimberly Clark products!  It includes Huggies, Kotex, Kleenex, Depend, Cottonelle, and Scott products.  If you spend $30, you get $10 in Up Rewards, spend $50, get $20, and spend $70, get $40!!!  You are probably thinking, yeah, but $70 is a lot of money...true, but subtract the $40 up reward, and you've got $30...then subtract all the coupons you are going to use, and you've got possibly $10-$20 for $70 worth of stuff!

I'm hoping they let you break up the transactions so You don't end up with a big $40 up reward you have to spend all at once.  I don't see why they wouldn't, but we'll find out.  So try to make your first transaction just over $30, then use your $10 on the next $20 purchase which will bring your total down and earn you another $10 that you can use on your next $20 and you should end up with a $20 up reward at the end to use in the next few weeks.

So here are some coupons I know are out there for some of the products, gather up as many as you can and get to $70!!

Couponing with a Smart Phone

For those of you out there who have smart phones (I know I am talking to most of the population, including my 13 year old sister), there is an EXCELLENT tool I came across for helping me coupon on the go!!  If you use Google Reader, which I highly recommend, for following your blogs, you should totally try the mobile site!!  And if you don't, you should totally start using Google Reader!  It puts all your blog updates in a neat little inbox so you can peruse them without going all over the web.  Here's how to start if you haven't already:

Step 1:
Go to google.com/reader and sign in using your google name and password.
Or, sign up for an account if you don't already have one.

Step 2:
Click "add a subscription"
In the little box that comes up, type the home address of a blog you follow.
Repeat
Here are mine:

http://christianclippers.com/
http://fabulesslyfrugal.com/
http://hip2save.com/
http://moneysavingmom.com/
http://www.savemoneylivejoyfully.com/
http://www.southerncalisaver.com/
http://www.sundaycouponpreview.com/
http://thekrazycouponlady.com/
Step 3:
Once you have all your subscriptions in, you can see every update chronologically, or filter to show only one blog by clicking the name on the left side.

That's it!
Now, once you have it set up, go to your smart phone and open up the internet.  Go to google.com/reader/m.  All your blogs will load quickly and you will be able to see everything on one page without scrolling all over the screen.  There will be no distracting ads or sidebars.  Strictly the information you need to get your stuff free and get out of there.  SO HELPFUL!   Post a comment if you have any questions and I'll see if I can answer them, but I'm no computer genius, so nothing too hard...

Kingsford Charcoal at Home Depot

I just scored all this charcoal for my mom (120 pounds!!!) for less than $2,50 a bag!  Home Depot has twin packs for $7.97, and there is a $3 off one bag of Kingsford Charcoal coupon in the Vons MDA coupon book.  I handed them 6 coupons, but they took only one coupon per twin pack, since they said it is like getting the second bag for free when you buy them together, which is still a great deal, so I didn't complain!

I went to check out at the self check because there was no line and I didn't want anyone behind me to be frustrated if I took a few extra minutes with my coupons.  As I lifted the first 40 pound bag over the scanner, the associate quickly came over with a scanning gun and said "I can scan those for you."  I guess I didn't notice they were heavy since Cohen weighs about that much!  :)

I also noticed in the small clearance section near the charcoal was a bunch of Glidden paint testers for $1.97, which there are $3/2 coupons for on coupons.com, making them $.47.  The coupon says they are only available at Walmart (which is incorrect), but it doesn't say you can only use it at Walmart.  I don't know if they will give you a hard time on that or not.

OJ at the 99 Cent Store?!

I just got 3 gallons of shelf stable orange juice at the new 99 Cent Store on Margarita and Winchester for $4! It's limit 2 per customer, but my brother was with me, so he got 2 and I bought his from him... :D

Who doesn't love free movies?!

Blockbuster Express Kiosks are typically located in Vons and I hear 7/11, but I've never seen one there.  They require no membership and are like Redbox, if you are familiar with that.  There are 4 codes out right now (that I have NOT tested) for one free night's rental (excluding the "hot list" rentals which are the newest releases).
The drawback is you can't enter the promo codes online, you have to enter it at the kiosk which means you can't reserve your movie ahead of time and go pick it up, but you CAN check their website to be sure the movie is there before you leave the house.  These codes are good until Sept. 5th (or so I hear).  Remember to return it before 9 PM the following day to avoid being charged for an additional night which the promo code would not cover.
Which reminds me, bring a credit/bank card with you because even though they won't charge it, they have to have it on file in case you run off with their movie.
My recommendation?  Soul Surfer!  My husband, 16 year old brother, and I watched it last night and while we couldn't seem to pass up some really insensitive one armed jokes throughout the movie, it was REALLY moving.  And funny when you watch it with my brother...

Vons Coupon Books (and my humiliation)

If you happen to be at Vons on Murrieta Hot Springs, getting your free orange juice.  Pick up one of these coupon books while you are there.  These particular books were not free to me...they cost me my pride.  Which I really don't need anyway...
I had been hearing about these MDA coupon books at Vons on the blogs yesterday because they have a coupon in them for $1.50 off Ocean Spray Sparkling juices which are priced at $2 per 4 pack at Vons until Tuesday (making them $.50).  Everyone was saying the books were all gone by now because they were from last month, so I never expected to see one, much less an entire bundle at every checkout when I went in to get my WIC groceries last night.  I asked the cashier as I checked out, "Are those coupon books?"  She said yes and handed me one...one...from a carefully guarded spot with a carefully guarded eye.  Now I see why they still had so many unopened bundles.  No wonder all couponers avoid this particular store.  For you couponers out there, you know the uselessness of ONE coupon.  How are you going to stock up at rock bottom prices and keep from spending all your money on gas driving all over creation with ONE coupon?  So I glanced around to see if they were laying around anywhere else, because I was too ashamed to ask for more and thought from her look she would say no anyway.  As luck would have it, all the other coupon books were bound with plastic straps, so it was either swipe a whole stack and make a break for it, fumble around with it in front of the employees, or go without.  Then I saw on one check stand 4 loose books sitting on top of the bound ones and thought, I will just smoothly exit that direction and grab them on my way out.   I felt pretty smooth for about 2 minutes until I got to the door and realized they lock that side after 9 PM....So I began my walk of shame back past every cashier, every bagger and every customer (not that many at that time of night, only making my not-so-smooth exit all the more noticeable).  I'm sure they just rolled their eyes at me if they even noticed me at all...

Simply Orange free at Vons!

If you go to coupons.com, you can print a coupon for $1 off Simply Orange ans Simply Lemonade juices with no size restrictions.  The individual sizes are on sale at Vons right now for $1 (well, 10 for $10, but you don't have to buy 10) and also at Walgreens for $.99 with in ad coupon.  Two of my least favorite stores, but I'll do anything for free juice...well, almost anything.

While you are there, since it's good to print 3 coupons at a time, you should also print the $1.50 off Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief coupon.  If Walmart carries the trial size, you could get it for free plus overage, but if not, you will still get a great deal on toothpaste somewhere with it.

Walmart/Albertson's 7/31

I spent $5.27 and saved a bunch.
The pasta was $89 at vons (price matched at Walmart) with $1/2 coupon, so $.39 each.
One pantene was free with coupon from the mail, the other was $.78 after a $3 Albertson's catalina coupon that I used at Walmart. I'm growing to love Walmart very much.
The pirates booty was on sale with a $.75 coupon on the bag that expired today! Andthe gerber was $1 on clearance at Albertson's. I had already used my gerber coupons. :( I had to use 2 $2 catalinas at Albertson's before tomorrow, so that's why I went. And also why they cost so little.

Cottonelle at Vons

So it looks like the lowest price we are going to see on Cottonelle before the 31st is $6.99 (according to their website), so if you want to take advantage of that $3.50 Catalina until the end of the month, you may as well do it now.  If you use the $1 Cottonelle coupon I told you about, you can buy 2 12 pack double rolls, pay $11.98, and get $3.50 back making them $4.24 each.  Not bad!

Some great deals!

Here are some of the things I've been getting this week...

Albertsons:
Nature Valley Granola Bars $2.50
When you buy 4, you get 2 $2 catalina's and a free milk catalina
I used 1 $.85/2 coupon, and one $.75/2 coupon
Final Price: $1.10 each plus free milk
This deal is good through Tuesday

Target:
Buy one Wonka 3.5 oz bar and get a catalina for a free one!  You get another catalina when you use the first one, and so on.  In theory, you could clear the shelf for the price of one bar, but that wouldn't be kind or thoughtful of others.

Target.com/coupons has $3 off adult jeans and $2 off kids' jeans coupons (excludes Circo brand) and I managed to find some little girls Cherokee for $4, making them $2!  And some men's jeans for Mike for $5.47 on clearance (so $2.47 after coupon) and some for me for $4.98 ($1.98 after coupon).  This was at the Super Target on Clinton Keith.

Also, Dove Men+Care Deodorant bonus packs have been in clearance for $3.38.  There is a $2/1 Manufacturer coupon from the paper and a $2/2 Target Coupon, making them $.38!

Walmart:
I price matched a few items from the Food4Less ad (runs through Tuesday), since I don't really like Food4Less and it's out of my way.  I got Eggo waffles for $.98 after price match and $1/2 coupon.  I got Ore Ida potatoes for $1.98 and Del Monte Fruit Cups for $1.48 (no coupons on either of those).
I got Black Flag fly swatters for free (which is great because they have been invading like crazy!  It seems like we always have one flying around somewhere in the summer.  They were $.98 with a $1/1 coupon from the paper.
Also, their Gerber toddler meals and snacks are very reasonably priced and with the coupons I printed on coupons.com, I got some good prices on those.  They have the puffs in small .5 oz packs for $.96, so with the $1/2 coupon (there is no size restriction on the coupon), they are $.46.  This is only slightly less per ounce than getting the big bottle with the coupon, but it is less out of pocket and they won't go stale before we eat them all.

Also, I heard about this deal at CVS, but haven't done it.
*Buy Trial size Gillette Fusion Hydra Shave Gel 2.5 oz $2.27
Use the $1/1 coupon found in the 6/5 PG
Pay $1.27
Get back a $2 Ecb
Final cost FREE + a $0.73 moneymaker!

And lastly, Taco Bell has Burrito Supremes for $.99 through Aug 6th, no coupons needed.

I will try to get back into posting deals, but for now it's all I can do to just keep up with them.  :)

Ralph's 7/13 Trip

This trip was one of those for the scrapbook. Kids were behaving great. I was going to buy Ellie some "Pirate Scooty" so she was stoked. I finally broke down and did the two cart thing (push one, pull the other so one of the kids isn't sitting on my groceries) and it worked so much better. I was doing two transactions anyway (5 if you count WIC) so it really helped. Anyway, almost done when it all melted down. Cohen became hysterical, Ellie needed to tinkle, I dropped one of my coupons and had to go look for it. I never found it so I had to swap out that item. I feel so bad for my cashier but they were really nice. Anyway, I spent $26.72, and saved over $100. I got my raisin bran so now I can mail away for my $10.00 gas card. The whole top stair was WIC, and usually I don't include that but I did this time because the cereal has codes on the box that get me a free $5 gas card! I did it with last months checks and I'm doing it this month too. Hopefully, I'll still be able to find the specially marked boxes again next month! :)

Kellogg's Rebate!

You can go HERE and print a form to get a $10 gas card when you purchase 10 select Kellogg's cereals.  You don't need receipts, just UPC's, so I happen to have 9 boxes in my garage already!  I will go buy a box of Raisin Bran this afternoon at Ralph's (they are $1.99 and I have a coupon) and get my $10 in the mail!!

Free Slurpees at 7/11 Tomorrow

On 7/11 every year, 7-11 gives away free slurpees. They are smaller than the usual size, but how much sugar does one person really need?

Target 7/10 Trip

I spent $6.28 and saved over $40.

Rango Coupon

I haven't seen this movie but if you did and liked it, here is a coupon for $5 off!  It comes out July 15th.  I've learned from past experience, if you liked the movie, to buy it the weekend it is released if you want to best deal.  After that, the prices go up.  I don't know if Fry's Electronics takes coupons, but they usually have new releases for very cheap.  I think I may call and find out.
Walgreens has it for $16.99 with in ad coupon. That would make it $11.99, and Target will give you $8 off when you also buy a Spongebob Movie that costs $15.99 (not that great of a deal if you don't want the Spongebob movie).  But sometimes Vons has deals on new releases, so we'll watch for that in Wednesday's ad.  :)

Mega bloks at Target

Target has mega blocks on clearance and if you join the mega blocks club, you can print some coupons to go with it. I got a $9.99 set for $4.98, a $19.99 set for $11.98 and a $39.99 set for $22.98. These also make great presents!  They say they are interchangeable with Legos now which is cool because I don't think they used to be...at least, not when I was a kid.

Vons, Albertsons, Target 7/6

I spent under $40 and saved almost $80.

Double the value coupons at Albertsons

Check to see if you got these in your mail today! They have done them a few times before but it looks like they may start coming pretty regularly. It says limit 1 on the coupon, but limit 2 above the coupon. I called them and they said its 2 per transaction. I would ask your neighbours if they don't want theirs.

Ralph's, Stater Bros, and Food4Less 6/29-7/5

I've decided to take the cheater way out tonight because I am tired.  I could just not include these stores this week I guess, but they are having some really good deals, so go to Southern Cali Saver and see what she posted.

Food4Less

Ralph's

Stater Bros

I am excited about the Ralph's promotion.  I thought I saw a peelie coupon recently at Stater Bros and Albertsons on their Kraft BBQ sauce that was for $2 off a Kool Aid canister when you bought them both.  Well, Ralph's has the BBQ sauce for $.69 and Kool Aid for $.99!  You have to buy 10 items but that shouldn't be a problem...5 of each!  I will let you know if it works out.

Free Beauty Tools at Target!

So this deal has been going on for quite some time and I am surprised it is still working!  In last Sunday's paper, there were $5 Target coupons for any 2 Revlon beauty tools.  Many of the tools are priced under or around $2.50 making them free.  But the best part is that when you buy them, you get 2 Catalina's for MORE free beauty tools!  I bought 4 tools, used 2 coupons, paid a few cents and got 4 more $5 coupons and 4 $2 off 1 coupons.  When I spend those, I will get more!  It's crazy.  I may have more nail clippers than any one person needs...

My tip for a successful check out?  I'm glad you asked!  Separate your transactions.  If you paired up a bunch of tools to equal about $5 together but then put them all in one transaction, the cashier won't be able to pair them up to best advantage unless you just do it for them, and while some will just put it through, some won't and will give you a hard time and call the manager over who will say, "well, we can't just let you have it all for free..."  Not that that has ever happened to me...

Target Trip

I spent $1.84 and saved over $15. The papers are for more free beauty tools.
