80% off at Restaurant.com

If you like to eat out as much as I do, this may be the time to try restaurant.com.  They sell restaurant gift cards for discounted prices.  Right now they are offering 80% off their already low prices.  They offer these special codes semi-frequently, so there's no need to stock up, but I would recommend giving them a try.

There is a little fine print, so you won't really be eating for 80% off, but you will get a significant discount.  Not every restaurant is available.  In fact, most of them were restaurants I had never heard of before, but some of them were places I actually eat, like the Studio Diner in San Diego (SO good!!  Their "Count of Monte Cristo" is to die for...and to die from!).

How it works:
You buy a $25 gift card to Stadium Pizza (for example) for $2 (after the 80% off code).  To use that gift card, you have to have a minimum purchase of $35, and they add 18% gratuity automatically and most say "no take out, dine in only."  So you spend around $20 after tax and tip for a meal that would have normally cost around $45.

I've used 3 of them and I think it's nice to have a way to go and eat a nice meal for an affordable price.  Plus, it encourages me to try new restaurants I've never been to before.  When you browse the restaurants, you can check out their menus as you go along to see how much their meals and drinks cost and what kinds of things they offer.  That will help you decide what size of gift card is right for you and your family.

The promo code is DEAL and is good until 6/13.

Probable $2 moneymaker on Zyrtec

Starting Sunday, CVS is supposed to have a deal on Zyrtec.  Spend $5.99 on a 5 pack and get $5.99 in Extra Bucks.  This $2 coupon will make it a moneymaker.  Print it now.  It may not last.  There is a short questionnaire If you choose "Yes" and "Zyrtec" you will receive the coupon.  If you choose any other options, you will receive a coupon in the mail in 4-6 weeks for a free 5 pack.  Also good.

Birthday Deals!

Since today was my birthday I thought I would go gather up some freebies and share them with you!  These are my favorite birthday deals, but there are lots more posted on Savvy Couponer, so check those out, too.  I recommend signing up the month before your birthday as many offers are sent out on the first of the month.

Red Robin has a Red Royalty club.  Just stop by and pick up a card and register it online.  You will receive a free appetizer within the first 14 days of signing up, a free burger in the month of your birthday, a free entree for every 9 purchased and a $20 credit if you dine 5 times in the first 5 weeks.  You may only redeem one reward per visit and the highest value reward will be used first so keep that in mind.

Sonic offers your choice of a free medium Tots, a regular CreamSlush Treat or a medium drink when you join their Sonic Cruisers Club.

Souplantation gives you a buy one get one free coupon with the purchase of 2 beverages coupon when you join Club Veg.

Hometown Buffet gives you a buy one get one free buffet coupon when you purchase 1 beverage if you join their e-club.

Swagbucks.com gives you 50 Swagbucks on your birthday if you are a member.  If you aren't familiar with Swagbucks, it is a search engine powered by Google that rewards you randomly with points for performing normal searches.  You can use the points to purchase a variety of things, but I have only purchased Amazon.com gift cards.  I signed up a few months ago and have already earned about 3 $5 cards for minimal usage.  If you do sign up, do it here.  I will get points for referring you!  :)

I recommend signing your kids up for Chuck E Cheese coupons.  You will receive free tokens on their birthday AND their half birthday!

As always, Denny's offers a free Grand Slam on your Birthday with valid ID, no membership required.

Free admission to Glen Ivy Hot Springs on your birthday.  You must bring a valid I.D.

Join the Pancake Revolution, and receive free MEAL at IHOP just for signing up, on your birthday and on your 1-Year anniversary of joining

Free beverage, when you register any Starbucks gift card online.

Sephora gives you a free gift on your birthday (mine was vanilla cupcake bubble bath/body wash) when you sign up for their Beauty Insider Club (I signed up in the store right then).

Promenade Temecula offers a birthday club with a free surprise!  I don't know what it is.  :(

So there's a few to get you started.  I'm sure there are tons more out there.  Happy Free Birthday!!  And don't forget to check out the others on Savvy Couponer!

Bakery Outlet

Before WIC started giving whole grains, I used to get all my bread products at the Bakery Outlet at 26019 Jefferson. It's a very inexpensive way to get bread if you aren't too squeamish about expiration dates.  Most of theirr products are "sell by" in the next few days, but they do offer some fresher products as well. I keep my bread in the refrigerator anyway, and I've never had any of their bread mold before we could eat it.  It's a good place to get a lot of hot dog or hamburger buns if you know you will be barbecueing the next day.
You can get coupons for a free item every week in the pennysaver that comes on Wednesday.  They offer a punch card and when you fill it, you get another free item.  Wednesday and Sunday are "double punch days" so you can get a free item twice as fast if you shop those days.
And here's a secret for first time shoppers.  Check out the selection that sits by the cashier because when you check out, you get to choose one for every $5 you spend.
I used to spend $10 and come out with 4 bags full to the top with bagels, English muffins, bread, buns, pirate's booty, etc.  So check it out sometime.

Albertsons $5 off $25 coupon!

Go here to print a coupon for $5 off a $25 purchase at Albertsons.
The fine print says nothing about "after other coupons are applied" which usually means, you can hand them this coupon first and THEN all your manufacturer coupons, bringing your total down more.  Mine expires 6/13, so it probably expires 6 days from printing.  Also, if you manage to refer anyone, you get another $5 off $25 coupon up to 5 referrals!  That's $30 in savings!

Vons 6/8 - 6/14

Vons and Albertsons must have the same marketing team because they both have Lucky Charms for $1.88 and grapes for $.98/lb!  How will I decide which one to go to?  Well, the Lucky Charms at Vons are only Friday through Monday and at Albertsons, you have to buy 10 to get the discounted price, but you also get 25 bonus box tops.... hmmmm...decisions, decisions...

Red Seedless Grapes                              $.98/lb

Charmin TP 12 double rolls                    $5.99/each with in-ad coupon limit 2
$.25/1 Charmin from the paper
Not the best price, but ok if you need it

Promo: $.50 off each when you buy 8 or more participating products (3,000 to choose from)  Prices shown are AFTER discount.

Arrowhead 24 packs                             $3.49
There were coupons in the paper for a free 8 pack when you buy a 24 pack.

There is an unconfirmed Catalina for Arrowhead water that ends tomorrow.  If you buy 4 24 packs, you may get $5 back but you would have to do it tomorrow.  That would make them $2.24 each if you bought another 4 participating products (like the mac and cheese).

Yoplait GoGurt or Splitz                        $1.69

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese                  $.59

Plus, who knows what else....if any of you see an unadvertised deal let me know.  With 3,000 choices I bet there's a lot more.

Albertsons 6/8 - 6/14

The only things calling to me from the Albertsons ad this week are the Lucky Charms and the grapes!

Red Seedless Grapes                          $.99/lb

Quaker Quakes                                  $1/each

Buy any 10 participating GM products and save $5 instantly, plus earn 25 box tops for education:

Lucky Charms!!!                                $1.88 after savings

Bisquick Shake and Pour                   $.75 after savings

Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks                $1.88 after savings
$0.50/2 Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks from SS 5/22
$0.50/2 Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks from SS 5/1
$0.50/2 Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks from SS 4/17
$0.50/2 Betty Crocker Fruit Flavored Snacks – (winonegiveone.com)

Henry's 6/8 - 6/14

Henry's is having a 3 day sale Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  I will be stocking up on chicken!

NATURAL Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast!!         $1.77/lb

Cluster Tomatoes                                                       $.88/lb

Small Seedless Watermelon                                        $1.88/each

Dried Cranberries                                                       $1.99/lb

Sharp Cheddar                                                           $2.99/lb

There are some other items I'm not excited about.

These deals are available all week:

Cucumbers and Mangos                                               $.49/each

Jumbo Cantaloupes                                                      $1.25/each

Natural Extra Lean Ground Beef                                  $2.97/lb
This is more than I pay for Beef, but it is better beef than I usually buy.

Texas Sweet Onions (my FAVORITE)                       $.49/lb

Italian Squash                                                             $.88/lb

Haagan Dazs Ice Cream                                             $2.50/each

Stater Bros 6/8 - 6/14

Here are the deals I like this week, with or without coupons...

The Powerade deal is back!  I did this twice last time they offered it, so we still have plenty.

Final Price: $.42 each

Bar S Jumbo Franks                       $.75
$1.00/2 – Bar S Franks –  (bar-s.com)
Final Price: $.25 each

Fresh and Easy 6/8

If you've never been to Fresh and Easy, this might be a good week to check them out.  Normally they send out a $3 off $30 coupon or a $5 off $50 coupon, but this week is one of the rarer $5 off $25 coupons (that's 20%!)  But, they don't accept manufacturer coupons, so in that sense, they aren't the best choice for regular couponing, but here are some deals I think might be worth getting.

These prices reflect the 20% discount you would receive if you spent $25 and used the coupon.  Remember to keep your total as close to $25 to receive the maximum discount.

Fresh Chicken Breasts                               $1.99/lb
Grape Tomatoes                                        $1.20/7-10.5 oz packs (must buy in multiples of 2)
Various produce packs                              $.78/each (peppers onions, baby carrots, bagged salad available)
Blueberries                                                $3.19/18 oz
Blackberries/Raspberries                           $3.19/12 oz
Capri Sun                                                  $1.33/10 pack (must buy in multiples of 3)

Tomorrow, you can look at their entire ad here.

Cheap Mac & Cheese at Vons

Sorry about the sideways pic.  From 6/8 - 6/14 you can get Mac & Cheese at Vons for 59 cents when you buy 8 or more.

Rite Aid Again!! What is WRONG with me?!

I spent $1.70 after coupons and up rewards! I can't believe I missed this the first time.  Wanna know how sick I am? None of the 3 Rite Aids within 3 miles of me had 4 oxicleans in stock so I went and bought 3 oxicleans at one Rite Aid and took them to another Rite Aid that only had 1 and returned them there so I could get 4. It was a BOGO free sale and I had 2 $3 off 2 coupons. I know...I'm getting help.

Free Nail Polish at Target

At my Target, these Revlon Top Speed nail polishes were marked down to $2.48 from $4.99. I had a Target coupon for $2 off that printed at the register when I got a bunch of free nail clippers. Plus a $1 off coupon from the paper! If you have these coupons, you can to get free nail polish too!

Rite Aid 6/5

I spent $3.88, used $19 in +up rewards, got $14 in +up rewards and I'm getting $10 in rebates!

Here's what I did (before tax):

Transaction #1

2 Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor packs ( Ialways get the super bundle packs when I can find them.  They have a razor plus shave gel and two facial lotions, but they were a limited time thing and I think there aren't many left)

2 Oral B Battery Powered Toothbrushes

Subtotal:  $31.92

Used:
1 $3 off $15 survey coupon
2 $4 off Gillette razors - PG 6/5
2 $3 off Oral B toothbrushes - PG 6/5
1 $15 +Up reward from buying sunscreen last week

Total: $-.08 (I had Ellie pick out a $.45 candy bar to make it a positive number.  It's not in the picture because we ate it.  But I subtracted the $.45 from my total above so it's ok.)

Got back:
2 $4 +Up Rewards for razors
2 $2.99 +Up Rewards for toothbrushes

Transaction #2

2 Cottonelle Fresh Wipes
1 John Frieda Full Repair Shampoo
1 John Frieda Full Repair Conditioner

Subtotal: $16.62

Used:
1 $3 off $15 survey coupon
2 $1 off John Frieda Full Repair product coupon I found sitting next to the shampoo
2 Free Cottonelle Fresh Wipes Tub from "Give a Tub, Get a Tub" Promotion last month (for some reason, the coupon rang up to the full price of the product even though I paid 10% less)
1 $4 +Up Reward from the razors above

Subtotal: $.24

Get back:
2 $5 Rebates from RiteAid Single Check Rebates for John Frieda

I'm attempting different layouts for these posts.  Feedback is good.
